Director of Maintenance & Repair (M&R) | Miami, FL - 105-125K

An established and growing container shipping company based in Miami is seeking an experienced Director of Maintenance & Repair (M&R) to lead and manage the maintenance and operational readiness of its container fleet, including dry, reefer, and specialized containers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute long-term M&R strategies aligned with corporate goals and industry standards.
• Oversee maintenance and repair operations across multiple terminals.
• Manage container inspections, repair cycles, and depot performance.
• Ensure compliance with international safety and regulatory standards (IICL, CSC, ISO).
• Build and manage relationships with third-party depots, vendors, and inspection agencies.
• Implement KPIs to drive operational efficiency and control costs.
• Lead a distributed team of M&R managers and technical staff.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a safety-focused culture.
• Leverage digital tools and systems to enhance maintenance tracking and reporting.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in container maintenance and repair, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of dry and reefer container systems.
• Experience managing multi-site depot operations and third-party vendors.
• Solid understanding of international repair standards and inspection criteria.
• Proficiency with M&R software tools and reporting systems.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to analyze operational and financial data to optimize processes.
