Engineering Technician (AutoCAD Electrical / ACADE Specialist)

Location: Hybrid — Overland Park, KS

Schedule: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote weekly

Contract: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $35.33/hour

We’re actively hiring contract-to-hire Engineering Technicians with strong expertise in AutoCAD Electrical (ACADE) to join a leading engineering firm on a contract-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with hands-on drafting/design experience who are also comfortable training others in ACADE software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, modify, and maintain design deliverables utilizing AutoCAD Electrical (ACADE) software.
• Train team members and provide guidance on best practices within ACADE.
• Support engineering production tasks under close supervision.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards, compliance requirements, and internal guidelines.
• Gain exposure to substation design tools (SDS — Substation Design Suite).
• Follow established engineering standards, systems, document control procedures, and company policies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Develop an understanding of internal and external client needs.

Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of daily hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical (ACADE); demonstrated expertise is a must.
• Experience with SDS (Substation Design Suite) is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; ability to train and mentor others on software usage.
• Basic knowledge of engineering standards, quality programs, and document control processes.
• Proficiency in CAD design tools and a good understanding of drafting/modeling techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
