Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to oversee and lead our team of HVAC technicians. This role will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in HVAC services, along with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Supervision:
  • Lead and manage a team of HVAC technicians to ensure service excellence and high performance.
  • Schedule and assign work to technicians, ensuring optimal coverage and resource allocation.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and mentorship to develop technicians’ skills and career growth.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to ensure individual and team objectives are met.
  • Service Operations Management:
  • Oversee the daily operations of service calls, including troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair work.
  • Ensure all service work is completed in compliance with company standards, local codes, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and track service completion, ensuring timeliness, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Handle escalated service issues or customer complaints and resolve them effectively and professionally.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Address any customer concerns or issues promptly and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Operational Efficiency & Reporting:
  • Review and monitor technician productivity, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost management within the service operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all service work, including job reports, inventory, and equipment used.
  • Generate and present reports on team performance, operational metrics, and customer feedback to management.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure that all technicians follow proper safety procedures and company policies.
  • Conduct safety training sessions and enforce safety protocols on job sites.
  • Monitor compliance with industry regulations, certifications, and licensing requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, including troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance.
  • Skills & Abilities:
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with technicians, clients, and management.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to handle customer complaints or issues with professionalism and tact.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using service management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
  • Education & Certifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Relevant licenses/certifications in HVAC (as required by state or local regulations).
  • OSHA or safety-related certifications preferred – OSHA 30 Required within 90 days.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy tools and equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
