Job Description

Akkodis is seeking a Japanese Speaking Customer Engineering Manager for a full-time direct hire role located near Ogden, UT. Relocation is available for the right candidate. Qualified candidates will have 5+ years working with Japanese OEM’s and must be bilingual in Japanese. The Manager leads a team of airbag applications engineers and ensures individual and team performance is aligned with customer expectations.

Salary Range: $135-165K base pay depending on years of experience; salary negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

Japanese Speaking Customer Engineering Manager job responsibilities include:

  • Ensure methods, processes, standards, and activities within the group, result in product and processes that meet internal, customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure team members engineering and project milestones are met on time.
  • Responsible for personnel development and training and ensures team members have the proper knowledge and skill to perform their roles.
  • Promotes technology utilizing effective technical documentation and customer communication.
  • Works with the customer on joint development projects.
  • Helps to generate technical roadmaps that align with customer and internal requirements.
  • Responsible for planning budgets and resources to achieve results in the most efficient manner.
  • Works with other Divisions and customer teams to quote and develop airbag application projects.
  • Drive a culture of curiosity, continuous improvement and E2E thinking.
  • Maintains appropriate communications within area of responsibility. Keep employees informed as to company and/or department plans and progress.
  • Assure compliance of associates and team members to company policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Japanese OEMs.
  • Fluent reading, writing & speaking Japanese required.
  • Exposure to JOEM culture.
  • Must be willing to travel 10%. Must be willing to work off hours as many meetings are with other time zones. Must be willing to deviate from hybrid schedules when needed in the office.
  • Previous leadership and managerial experience are a plus.
