The University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, seeks a dynamic and accomplished academic endocrinologist to serve as Program Director for its ACGME-accredited Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Fellowship Program. Reporting to the Division Chief and working in close collaboration with the Vice Chair of Education, the Program Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of the fellowship. This includes advancing clinical excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a rigorous and supportive learning environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of endocrinology education at UK, while cultivating academic growth and meeting the evolving needs of both the institution and the broader community.

The role will be provided 20% FTE of non-clinical time.

The ideal candidate will exhibit emotional intelligence, a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care, and a passion for training future leaders in Endocrinology. The selected individual will be a recognized academic leader with a proven track record of excellence in clinical care, research, clinical education, and mentorship.

The candidate should demonstrate integrity, foster trust among colleagues, and possess excellent communication skills. Prior administrative experience in an academic medical center setting is preferred.

  • A teaching portfolio with objective evidence of teaching evidence (learner evaluations, peer and learner letters of support).
  • Academic experience including public speaking, involvement in regional or national organizations related to advancing endocrinology or medical education, and/or peer reviewed publications.
  • Advanced training or experience in a relevant field, such as a Master of Health Professional Education, public health, or health services research.
