Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)
- * Manage all aspects of the day to day operation and administration of the Valet and Transportation department including establishing operational standards for the team members, evaluating, adjusting, and improving the operation to best meet business needs.
- *Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring and training team members; scheduling and motivating team members; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members up to and including termination; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- *Establish department goals to improve guest service and financial and operational efficiencies.
- *Implement guidelines to ensure that all Potawatomi Bingo Casino (PBC) Valet and Transportation vehicles are in compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) State and Local laws.
- * Build and develop departmental budget and manage within accepted budget parameters; assist Hotel Director in explanation of budget variances.
- *Read and interpret financial statements and make managerial strategic decisions based on those interpretations.
- *Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations and oversee management of all DOT dispatch and documentation.
- *Execute programs which improve guest service, team building, team efficiency, and team member morale.
- Utilize the Computerized Valet Parking System (CVPS) and MICROS registers system.
- Report any motor vehicle violations to Management within 24 hours of the incident, if assigned driving responsibility.
- Establish, update, and ensure full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of Valet or related experience are required. Bachelor’s Degree in Management or equivalent degree, preferred.
- Three years of management or supervisory experience required.
- One to two years of DOT regulatory experience preferred.
- Must have a valid, unexpired Wisconsin Driver’s License.
- Must have and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Complete in house Responsible Beverage program within 3 months of hire.
- Office skills must include the ability to use standard office equipment and general knowledge of Microsoft Office prior MICROS knowledge preferred.
- The ability to use strong organization skills and attention to detail to accurately handle multiple job duties and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to use basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and counting using whole numbers and fractions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as plan documents and contracts, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
- The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information.
- The ability to interact with and understand the interests of stakeholders at all levels, as well as the impact of those interests on PH&C and its goals.
- The ability to communicate effectively before groups of guests or team members of the organization.
- The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move freely throughout the office and property for duration of scheduled shift. The team member is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The team member must be able to operate a personal computer. The team member may be required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with assistance. Team member must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Working Conditions
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. When on the casino floor the noise level increases. The facility is not smoke free. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
