Position Summary

The MEP Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the startup, construction, and commissioning of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and control systems. This role ensures that all MEP scopes are executed in accordance with contract documents, quality standards, and the project schedule—particularly within complex, mission-critical environments.

Ideally, you would have exposure to a wide facet of MEP based projects, but we are also considering candidates with strong experience in Mechanical, Electrical or Plumbing projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the bidding and evaluation of mechanical and electrical subcontractors
• Manage the procurement process for major MEP equipment
• Develop and maintain MEP critical path schedules
• Track equipment deliveries and coordinate with logistics teams
• Organize and lead project meetings focused on critical MEP milestones
• Review and approve mechanical and electrical submittals
• Create and manage Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for high-risk, live-environment work
• Provide field coordination and resolution of MEP-related conflicts with subcontractors and design teams
• Oversee and enforce quality control standards for all MEP installations
• Manage and coordinate startup, pre-testing, and functional testing of MEP systems
• Support and coordinate with third-party commissioning agents
• Maintain and organize all commissioning documentation
• Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred (relevant experience may be substituted)
• Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical or electrical system construction
• At least 3 years of combined experience in mission-critical environments, datacenters or commissioning/startup roles
• Strong leadership and team-building skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to coordinate and schedule complex MEP activities
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable working independently in fast-paced environments
• Proficient with construction management software and digital tools such as Procore.
• Experience in preconstruction and equipment procurement processes
• Willingness to travel as needed for project support
