Job Description

Carrier Mausoleums Construction USA (CMC USA) is an American construction company renowned for delivering unique, high-quality projects across North America. For over 40 years, CMC has set the standard in cemetery and funeral construction, creating lasting projects that contribute to the legacy of communities. As we expand, we are seeking talented individuals who are eager to grow with us. We are currently looking for a Superintendent to work in Wisconsin for our current and upcoming mausoleums projects.

Your mandate:

As part of the construction team and under the direction of the Regional Director of Construction, you will be required to deliver projects on budget, on schedule, and with the quality our clients have come to expect from CMC and that we expect from ourselves. Responsibilities will range from coordinating with CMC field crews to organize and schedule daily tasks, managing and scheduling subcontractors, coordination with project management teams, and communications with project stake holders. In addition, you will be responsible to perform all these tasks within CMC’s health & safety policy and within all OSHA regulations in an effort to avoid injuries and accidents on your worksite.

Key Responsibilities

Worksite management

• Ensure physical organization and cleanliness of worksite

• Read, analyze and ensure compliance with plans and specifications

• Coordinate inspections by various professionals (soil engineers, building inspectors, etc.)

• Ensure compliance with work schedules, deadlines and production objectives

• Deliver compliant, quality jobsites on schedule

• Organize and direct daily meetings with foremen or subcontractors related to operations

• Control the supply and safe storage of materials, equipment and tools

• Ensure conformity and quality of work, materials and products in order to accelerate the release of holdbacks on contracts

• Complete required reports

• Participate in work planning with the project manager

• Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed by all team members

• All other related tasks

Personnel Management

• Effectively manage the site, foremen, survey crew, subcontractors and site personnel.

• Participate sporadically in the recruitment of personnel

• Promote and ensure compliance with the safety program among staff and participate in improvement measures.

• Encourage performance, good working relationships, respect and team spirit.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• At least 5 years ‘experience as a commercial Superintendent

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Carpenter Foreman, Concrete Finisher or an equivalent Trade

• ESSENTIAL: Strong concrete forming skills, experience with concrete formwork, placing, and finishing are all essentials to the position

• ESSENTIAL: Depending of the organization needs & projects, being mobile and able to work outside of your State of residence for few months (with an established frequence of return home and also with interesting Per-Diems being offered to you)

• ASSET: Experience with recent technology in worksite management systems – notably ProCore

• ASSET: Experienced with multi-million dollar construction projects

• Intermediate proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

• Comfort with regular administrative IT tool like MS Office (Outlook, Excel & Word)

• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

• Familiarity with regulations specific to various trades.

• Valid health and safety training for construction job sites (WHMIS, Working at Heights, etc.).

• Knowledge of and adherence to safety standards through OHSA training and practical experience.

• Valid driver's license.

• Carpenter certification considered an asset.
